Ah, it's been forever since I've done a Style Soundtrack. Literally ever. And it's totally my favourite Dedicated feature. So I'm giving it some face time.
Now this post is far more revealing than it should be. Supernatural is one of my favourite shows, Jensen Ackles is one of my favourite men (Mr Style aside obviously) and Dean Winchester, well he's really fricking awesome. So wouldn't want to be him, even in lady form.... ;)
Yes. I'm a geek.
So listen to Kansas, bathe in it's musical and theatrical glory and fantasise about Jensen Ackles. Just me then?
There's a lot of little story's going on with this outfit. Firstly, this is the first new pair of Converse I've had in about 6 years and I promptly forgot the break in rules. Never, ever wear new Converse without socks. I walked a mile in these today and I swear there isn't an inch of my feet that doesn't have blister. Too much information? Rest assured the rest of today's outfit info will be much less gross.
I'm still really loving this American Apparel skirt, and still wishing their service was better, if it were I would consider purchasing another, this time I paired it a stripey tee from Cotton On and and metallic belt from Forever 21.
The jacket I'm wearing, check out the back (!), has been with me for so long it's practically vintage. I purchased it from Portobello market in London when I was about 17. It's your typical Army surplus jacket but the back is embroidered with amazing neon butterflies and rhinestones. It's a prized possession that rarely gets an outing (the last time was here - and apparently I didn't even photograph it...duh)
Accessory wise I'm wearing my vintage men's Timex and a DIY'd friendship bracelet from here. Plus my latest DIY, this multi chain necklace with spikes...trying to decide if it warrants a DIY tutorial?
Ah, this has taken far too long to post, but a few weeks back I spent a wonderful morning at the Four Seasons Hotel (in the Royal Suite, because I'm lah di dah...) perusing some very very fancy watches. Here's what I discovered....
In true Kelsi fashion my favourite watches were those that exuded a touch of vintage like these Movado and Ebel numbers above. I love a large watch, particularly one with a large face, leather strap and with an almost masculine quality to them. That's how a watch should be.
These beautiful Ebel watches (bottom picture) are drool worthy, re-issuing their vintage logo, adding to the overall vintage effect. Dreamy.
If the vintage inspired watches weren't enough to get your sartorial juices flowing then these beauties should be able to tip you over the edge. Actual vintage Movado watches. So incredibly stunning. And so incredibly priceless. Sorry for the blurry pics - I decided to play around with my macro lenses...didn't do so well on this batch!
Second in line to a vintage inspired watch is a a truly classic watch like these mens and womens classic designs above. There's nothing like a classic and chunky men's watch on a delicate lady wrist and the womens rose gold one (top photo) is so on trend as the world goes crazy for rose gold.
