Pavement Princess: In Which I Am Sultry. Or At Least I Think I Am.

I have quite the back log of outfit posts from over the past month or so, and I thought I'd kick off the backlog with this black and white number. I bought this dress with Vegas in mind. And then promptly forgot to actually wear it in Vegas.

Fast forward to March and I was hosting the Pre LAFW Party at the Los Angeles Fashion Council (temporary) Headquarters, and it seemed like an appropriate opportunity to get slinky with it. The dress desperately required Spanx and a pair of killer high heels. So naturally I wore neither. The skirt portion was too short for Spanx and the work portion (of the event) too frantic for high heels.

Still. I felt like I should be singing jazz. In french.

Pavement Princess: In Which I Am Being Mouthy. Again.

We all know I love me some L.A. Despite being a non-native British girl (who is still very fundamentally British) L.A has gotten under my skin, and is my home. It's that kind of city. If you embrace it in all the right ways you learn to appreciate it's brashness, it's vapid parts (there are a few) it's sprawling, expansive mass and the creativity that seeps through freeways and the streets seeps straight into you.

Who needs the city that never sleeps when you have the city of dreams??

And then there's the weather. Which can't be beat obviously.

Anyhoo. This was taken on the very last day (now a full month ago) of a month long very public display of affection for this city. At this very moment we'd wrapped the Los Angeles Fashion Council Collections, The Show Room and the Sample Sale and very reluctantly left our building in downtown Los Angeles that was our home for March.

Los Fucking Angeles Indeed.

Pavement Princess: In Which I am a Rockstar. In My Mind.

Right. As you do. In fairness it was a bit windy in old Palm Springs.

Hereby completing all Coachella posts (actually that's a lie - I have one more for you aprés this one) but this is the last outfit post - and since I only gave you two, I'm hoping you're all still reading.

Hi, all the new folks that subcribed thanks to my Lucky Mag shout out. So as a new reader you've discovered that I am a liar and I went to Coachella. So I'm just like all the other bloggers. I'm kidding.

I'm a rockstar. Well at least this gusty moment in a GNR tee made me feel like one, until I started choking on the dust storm that was a-brewing. Here I am wearing an outfit that I actually wore twice at Coachella. Because I liked it. I'm loyal like that.

The skirt is from the fantabulous Inka of ISM Mode (support LA design y'all and buy your own here - yeah I paid for mine), the top from Cotton On, the jelly sandals are by Melissa (lived in 'em, jelly shoes for grown ups) and the bikini top is from Mara Hoffman (similar here).

Pavement Princess: In Which I am Alice in Coachella Land

It's been a helluva weekend at the festival that is Coachella. I was there with a contigency of L.A bloggers who were ambassador-ing for LuLu*s - playing project manager, blogger wrangler and photographer all in one.

Of course it wasn't all work no play. In fact there was plenty of play! We arrived Friday morning and headed straight to the BCBGMAXAZRIA Beauty Bungalow where we sipped cocktails poolside and were treated to a number of goodies from both BCBG and Benefit Cosmetics.

We followed this with a quick jaunt to the Parker where we danced poolside supping Pavan (my new favourite liquor) alongside the likes of Marcus Molinari, Johnny Wujek, Katy Perry, Shannon Woodward and band members from Kids and White Lies.

It was all very fancy and very fun. It was at the Parker, a veritable wonderland of interior (and exterior) goodness that we paused for this photo opp. And yes, a tried to ride a giant chess piece. I'm that kind of a lady.

Pavement Princess: Sunday Ruffles

Last Sunday I found myself in West Hollywood playing half publicist, half blogger at the Gypsy Junkies Fall 13 Presentation (more on that later!) I wore my current favourite dress, from the Duro Oluwo for JC Penney Collection. It's ridiculous pretty, flattering and ridiculously comfortable. I literally want to wear it day in, day out (I only got it a couple of weeks ago and it's already had three outings!)

I paired it with my trusty Seychelles sandals and this stunning bag courtesy of Fossil - the second I saw it multiple voices declared how perfect it was for me and it swiftly became mine. Love at first sight.
